James and Helen have been married for over 26 years.

With over 20 years of combined military and corporate experience,

… James believes that the reason there is no vision is because there is no accountability in our political world. In the business world and in the military, leaders are held to the highest standards of accountability in meeting the organization's mission. The leader must have a vision that clearly states the goals, the means of achieving those goals, and how those goals fit into the overall mission. They are then held accountable as to whether the objective is met while having to work with people from different backgrounds, genders, and beliefs. Therefore, a leader cannot attack the patriotism, character, morality, faith, intelligence, integrity, body, and persons we love -- and be effective. Only in politics is it possible to live in a world and believe otherwise.

James believes that the responsibility of a U.S. Senator is the same as that of a business or military leader. A U.S. Senator must understand the overall vision and ensure that the goals behind the vision are being met. If these goals are not being met, they should develop solutions, not excuses, to address them.

If blessed with the opportunity to serve as the next Senator for the people of the great state of North Carolina. James will invest in our people to guarantee our highest rates of return. These investments will focus on policies that create jobs for hard working Americans — and will include essentials like rural broadband, education, and Medicare for all. James and his policies will continue the fight for our shared vision of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, to ensure that a year like 2020 never happens again.
